Event photography is a balance between speed, awareness, and consistency. Here is the workflow I use to keep quality high from start to finish.

Pre-event prep

  • Confirm timeline and key moments with the organizer
  • Review venue lighting conditions
  • Create a short shot list for must-have moments
  • Prepare backup batteries, cards, and body/lens combinations

On-site approach

I split coverage into three layers:

  1. Story frames (wide, context-rich)
  2. Interaction frames (guests and reactions)
  3. Detail frames (branding, decor, hands, expressions)

This keeps the final gallery complete instead of repetitive.

During transitions

Transitions are where many key moments happen: entrances, stage changes, family interactions, and candid laughs. Staying mobile is more important than staying in one perfect spot.

Post-production

After culling, I edit in batches by lighting scenario. This keeps color and exposure consistent across the full set.

Delivery

Clients receive a curated gallery with clear folder structure and highlight selections first, so they can publish quickly while the full set is being reviewed.
